An example of success breeding belief
When it comes to social mobility success breeds belief in others.
A bit of a wordy post but read on for a perfect example of the impact of successful outcomes.
Last week Aaron Antwi, a student at Christ The King Sixth Forms Aquinas in south London, secured a degree apprenticeship at Bloomberg. This is a fantastic achievement for him and reflects his hard work, ability and commitment. We saw him throw himself into working with Fairfield Enterprise, dedicating time to speaking to and learning from professionals like Lucy Mather from J.P. Morgan, David Nunes, CFA, CAIA, from Lazard Asset Management, Aseya Shwani from Morgan Stanley, Laurie Robathan and Ayo Ojo from Bloomberg. This opportunity will allow Aaron to start a successful career with a qualification and practical training.
His success has had another major impact though..
Last December Aaron attended our first Fairfield Enterprise x AmplifyME Academy, along with one other student from Aquinas. Our next Academy is in April and this time round the number of applicants we’ve had from Aquinas is….18.
Is that 9x growth in interest from one school a coincidence? No. It’s one of many examples we see at Fairfield of individual success inspiring others around them to believe.
April’s Academy has students attending from schools in Sheffield, Leeds, Belfast, Nottingham, Bath, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and across London. Once those students go on to succeed we’ll see this effect happen all over again in those areas and then again and again and again…
To continue to scale our impact Fairfield are always looking for support from firms and senior leaders in the industry. If that’s you and you want to explore volunteering or Corporate Sponsor opportunities we want to talk to you. Please get in touch at info@fairfieldenterprise.co.uk or contact Laurie Robathan, David Nunes, CFA, CAIA or James Scott direct.
